Students participate in 2nd Annual GettingtheMAXoutoflife/Jr 76er’s Championship Game

Students from West Philadelphia High School and Samuel Fels High School participated in the 2nd Annual GettingtheMAXoutoflife Jr 76er’s Championship Game. The game serves as a culmination of a male mentoring program, which is in eight schools. Students were outfitted in junior 76er’s uniforms and saw appearances by the 76er’s dance team, a live DJ and guest appearances.

Through a partnership with youth mentoring program GettingtheMAXoutoflife, students from Bartram, West Philadelphia, Fels, Overbrook South Philadelphia, Randolph, Edison and Dobbins high schools have been exposed to various experiences throughout the year that are intended to build self esteem, foster creative thinking and conflict resolution skills, focus on actions, attitudes and behaviors and understand individual strengths and weaknesses. The goal of the program is to increase student engagement and achievement, while decreasing student’s likelihood of being a victim or perpetrator of violence.

"It Works for Me" New Partnership with the School District of Philadelphia

It has been such an AMAZING journey for me over the last couple of months. Stepping out and Starting "GettingtheMAXoutoflife" was the absolutely scariest thing I have ever done in my life. However, every single challenge, every obstacle that I faced and had to overcome has been more than worth the rewards of achieving yet another milestone in my goal to Inspire, Educate and Uplift our youth in the City I'm happy to call to home, Philadelphia has been well worth the struggle. I am so happy to announce to you that "It Works for Me", my 5-step self-awareness program has been accepted as an official mentoring program for the School District of Philadelphia!!!!! Having the opportunity to engage the youth in both High School and Elementary Schools across the City is an opportunity to help that young man or young woman recognize the greatness that is within them. I'm forever grateful to all of the support, words of encouragement and opportunities that have come my way. I can't Thank Richelle Payne, Publicist, Elijah Hollis, Choreography/Video and Steve Linchuk and Matt Roosa from Agency M for helping to bring my vision to life.

I'm thankful to each and everyone of you that took my calls. Everyone of you that donated your time, service and energy to help me complete a cause, mission or event. I hope to continue to make you proud and I hope to continue to put our youth in a position where they recognize their biggest obstacle in life is the one they create with their ACTIONS, ATTITUDE & BEHAVIOR.
